Given the unique and geographically distributed Makers and experiences on Tastemade and their associated tax situations, we don’t collect any sales or other taxes on guest purchases. The 5% processing fee (charged to guests at checkout), 10% experience fee (charged to the Maker for all IRL and virtual experiences), and 15% service fee (for Maker subscriptions) cover payment processing and other platform costs incurred by Tastemade.
We leave it up to Makers to determine which taxes are relevant for what they’re selling, which they can optionally add as Fees when creating an experience, or consider them included in the prices they set.
